D2: Justify the choice of animation technique for the frame rate and duration

Image
All of the techniques used to create my animation were digital , I didn't use cel-animation of stop-motion animation. The animation was also created digitally because it meant it was quicker than producing a frame-by-frame animation. The first season of The Simpsons was cel animated however it was too time consuming so the studio switched to digital animation for the following studios which sped up production. I used 60FPS, which allowed my animations movements look smooth, and the animation doesn't last too long or go too quick. Even though children's animations are usually 24FPS, mine is smooth and easy for the children to understand and learn the planets order. On YouTube, the videos can range from 24FPS to 60FPS.  This means that my animated children's space exploration will fit a professional standard while also maintaining the correct run time of 2 minutes. Before i exported my animation i would preview the animation to ensure the frame rate and speed was correct....

P6: Complete and edit the animation content in line with the plan

Here is my finished animation: The first step to creating the animation was the import all of the assets from photoshop and add them to the timeline in After Effects. I did this by saving the photoshop files as a PSD file. Once the file was saved I opened After Effects and press file:import:file then selected the PSD file and clicked open. Then After Effects imports the layer s from photoshop to be used in the project. This was an important step as getting the settings correct would mean an easier creation. I begun by creating a null layer, which allowed me to move across the scene. A null layer in After Effects is used as a placeholder layer for other layers or for applying animation to it. It is also used to control the visibility of other layers.  I begun adding keyframes to my UFO to allow for movement across and around the scene and the speeds that I choose. Keyframes are helpful as I can add them to important frames on the timeline so I can cut, move or add to the layer. For ...

M3: Optimise the content for use in the final animation

Show you exporting your animation When I exported my animation, I exported it as an MP4 to retain the highest quality possible. Exporting this file format allows the video to be compatible with every device to stream the video on platforms such as YouTube, which is where I would distribute my animation to my audience. When exporting, I had to ensure it was a higher priority of quality over file size to ensure my animation looked like a professional standard. Also, file size isn't too important on Youtube as YouTube automatically degrades the content to the chosen viewing quality of the user.  (screenshot file format) When i posted to YouTube, I ensured I enabled the feature labelled Made for Kids. This means it would be recommended on the YouTube kids application and would target my audience of 8-12 year-olds. Explain the export process***

P5: create content for your animation

Throughout the production of my animation, I have stuck to deadlines by creating documents to aid my production such as weekly production schedules to allow me to complete the work on time. I have used multiple software applications to create the content for animation. I have used photoshop to create the planets using tools such as shape, brush, burn and using fades and clipping layers. Here are the assets used in my animation. I created these in Photoshop and saved them as PNG files so that they are trasnsparent and can be placed above other layers. I created the entire animation in After effects by using the 3D layers to create a moving stage. I set the framerate to 60FPS and the software would match my movements to 60FPS so that i didn't have to move it frame by frame. As i didnt have any talking or characters I didnt have to create puppets in Adobe Character however I did test the software. For the animation I placed the planets and spaceship on different layers so that they co...
